Text Messaging Terms & Consent
Last updated 31 August 2026. Written in English; the English text governs.
The short version
You can text Diversified Accounting at +1 (360) 900-1545, and we will text you back. We also send appointment reminders to people who have asked us to. We do not send marketing texts, and we never share or sell the mobile numbers or the consent behind them.
How you consent to receive text messages
There are three ways, and each one is something you do — none of them happens by default, and we never add a number that arrived any other way.
1. You text us first
Our number is published on this website. If you text it — as a client with a question, or as someone weighing up whether to become one — your message is your consent for us to reply to you about it. That is the whole of the opt-in for a conversation you started. It does not sign you up for anything else, and if you never text us, we will never text you.
2. You tick the box on our quote form
The pricing form at the foot of our home page asks for a phone number. Under it sits a checkbox, unticked, which reads:
Full details: Text messaging terms · Privacy Policy
The box is never pre-ticked, the form submits perfectly well without it, and the price you are quoted is identical either way. Consent is not a condition of purchase. We record the date you ticked it along with the exact wording you were shown, so that what you agreed to stays on file even after we reword the page.
3. You ask us on a call or in writing
If you tell us on a call or by email that you would rather be reached by text, we note it on your record along with the date. You can withdraw that the same way you would withdraw any of the others — see below.
What we send
Two kinds of message, and nothing else:
- Replies to you. Conversational messages answering whatever you raised — a question about your books, details of a problem you are dealing with, or arranging a time to speak properly.
- Appointment notifications. Confirmations and reminders for calls and meetings you have booked with us.
Representative examples:
- “Hi Maria — Anthonee at Diversified Accounting. Happy to look at that payroll question. Can you send me the pay date and which state the employee is in? Reply STOP to opt out.”
- “Diversified Accounting: reminder of your call tomorrow, Tue 9 Sep, 10:00 AM PT. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
We do not send promotional or marketing text messages, and we do not text you about anything you have not asked us about.
How often, and what it costs
Message frequency varies — conversational replies happen at whatever pace the conversation does, and appointment notifications only occur when you have an appointment. There is no recurring broadcast, and most months carry no messages at all unless you write to us.
Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for text messages; your mobile carrier may, according to your plan.
Stopping, and getting help
Reply STOP to any message to stop all text messages from us. You will get one confirmation that it worked, and then nothing further. STOP is honored by the carrier and by our messaging provider before the request ever reaches us, so it works even if we are not at a desk. HELP, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE and INFO all behave the way you would expect.
Reply HELP for contact details, or write to [email protected] or ring +1 (360) 900-1545.
Opting out of text messages does not affect your engagement with us, and does not stop us reaching you by phone or email. If you opt out and later change your mind, just text us again.
Delivery
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Text messaging is not a guaranteed channel, so please do not use it for anything genuinely urgent or time-critical — ring us instead.
Privacy
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party. Numbers and consent records are used only to send the messages described on this page, and are handled by our messaging provider solely to deliver them.
Our full Privacy Policy covers everything else we hold, and our Terms of Service govern the engagement itself.
